The diode clipping produces a full palette of guitar and bass fuzzes, overdrives, and distortion. With so many options, there really hasn't been a pedal like this before, and even more sound options are just another tube swap away.

Without the diode clipping, the Audiode is basically the tube preamp from our Audity One Recording Amplifier, which will produce a range of tones from a clean boost to slightly tube overdriven to full-on tube distortion. Or, switch the Diodes into the circuit and get an incredible range of clipping options from your choice of diodes – without losing the warmth of the tube amplification. With so many options, there really hasn’t been a pedal like this before. The diode clipping produces a full palette of guitar and bass fuzzes, overdrives, and distortion, with a total of 36 different germanium, silicon, and light-emitting diode combinations.
Our products are hand-built in Indiana, USA. Everything in the audio signal path uses top quality components, including 1% tolerance metal film resistors and 5% tolerance Orange Drop® capacitors. All components are chosen carefully, with superior performance as the primary goal. We check the operating voltages and give every product our 24-hour performance test before it leaves the shop.
You can roll tubes on the Audiode until you find the exact tone and sensitivity you need. Instead of the stock 12AX7, dial back the gain with a 12AT7, 12AY7, or 12AU7. Get wild and try something like a 12BH7 for more headroom, or a 12DW7 to vary the gain stages. With the diode selectors, you have numerous options with diode clipping. Try symmetrical combinations of germanium, silicon, or LEDs… or mix diode types for asymmetrical clipping. The possibilities are huge! All-in-all, the tonal range of the Audiode is beyond what you would normally expect from just about any overdrive or distortion pedal.
